A busy week in pictures
Gah. They say a picture is worth 1,000 words so I'm letting them tell this week's story. Also, Lululemon isn't always the worst.
Hello friends,
This week, I’m going to try letting pictures tell the story rather than words. TBH, work is kinda crazy and I’m heading into a final sprint this week before big deadlines and then, mercifully, a week-long vacation. Bless you baby Jesus. Let’s go.
On Monday, I fulfilled a lifelong dream this week and bought a birdfeeder that could suction cup to the big bay window next to my desk and honestly, it’s brought an insane amount of joy. I was Facetiming my two daughters the other day from my desk and saw a bird land at the feeder and started to peck at the seeds and I urgently whispered, “Guys, a bird is at the feeder,” and they were like, “Why are you whispering?” I’m just trying to be sensitive to their privacy.
Also on Monday, I cashed in the Dunkin reward points I recently figured out how to convert to get a mega iced latte to power me through my afternoon. I sent a pic to my manager and she texted back, “AMY! THAT IS AN ICED MILK!” LOL, perfect.
On Tuesday, the dog and I walked down to the beach during our daily constitutional and forgetting a tennis ball didn’t seem to be a problem.
I upgraded my afternoon caffeine fix on Wednesday with this yummy iced vanilla latte from Maeberrie in Avon and proceeded to buy one the next day, too, because when I like something, I really like it.
A package from Amazon arrived this week and I burst out laughing when I saw that my most thoughtful friend had caught wind of my infatuation with birds and re-sent a beautiful book that she’d already given me on another occasion.
Another LOL moment: my sister texted a picture of herself after arriving in Egypt this week standing in front of a camel with a pyramid in the background to tell me she is really enjoying a show on Netflix.
Um, fertilizer is a thing. I poured a little in this little clover that was half dead about two weeks ago and now it is going absolutely nuts with new sprouts.
On Friday, I went into the office to record a session I created for an upcoming virtual conference around labor market data that we made into a game show because why make life simple when you can really complicate it? That’s me in the corner on the left.
On Saturday, I went sofa bed shopping with this cutie and made her try all the couches with me. Also, Brielle Furniture has some great and reasonable options when you’re trying to add more sleeping space for guests but not break the bank.
I’m taking next week off but if you want to keep in touch, follow me on Facebook and Instagram and I’ll see you in two weeks!
sunday shares: read + watch + cook + buy
Bring joy into your life. Honestly, you need this birdfeeder. It is really thrilling me watching birds come partake of my seed buffet. True to my nature, I now have a lot of questions like: what types of birds am I seeing and why is it just the same kinds all the time? Anyone?
Feet deserve joy, too. TBH, I find Lululemon annoying. I don’t know why, because I wear these joggers every other day and my sons adore these pants. Anyway, I found these slides on an internet shopping journey for my upcoming trip as an alternative to traditional flipflops and DAMN, they are comfortable.
Preparing not to melt. It will be 97 degrees in Orlando this week, so my packing for our trip is definitely skewing toward dressing not to melt. I picked up a couple of loose tank tops and v-neck tshirts at Athleta to help stay cool.

Still laughing. And, buying the bird feeder. As Scott Galloway says, “life is so rich.”
Just ordered two pairs of the slides, one for me and one for the hubby 😊Your recommendations are always the best!
