How is your week going? As usual, I’ve been jobbing hard and happy to take a break from all that corporate syncing to sneak over here and connect with you guys.
As one of eight kids, I have spent my life teaching myself how to do things. Sometimes, that’s meant emulating behavior I saw from my family (whoops). Often, I mimicked things I’d watched on television (Marcia Brady was my North Star). But the majority of stuff I figured out through books. Judy Blume taught me it was okay to have complicated feelings and to be obsessed with getting boobs and my period. What to Expect When You’re Expecting guided me through many pregnancies. After growing up eating a lot of pot roast and stew, The Silver Palate cookbook gave me insight into a new way of cooking and thinking about food and ingredients like pesto and radicchio.
