Weekend Log: 3 Things
I bought a kayak! Also, my dream bracelet stack and the salad dressing I'd drink.
Midlifers!
It’s Friday! And it’s hot (already at 6 a.m.)! I’m sitting here sweating in my bed — despite my highly-touted central air conditioning cranking away downstairs.
As we roll into the weekend, I want to check in on all you Knicks fans. I woke up Thursday morning and immediately checked my phone to see the score and then wondered if my 23yo roommate survived the night. I did hear expletives coming from his room at one point but then no other sounds to celebrate that — literally — last-second win. I thought for sure I’d find pieces of him scattered all over his bedroom after imploding from the stress of that game, the jersey he dons to watch every game shredded Hulk-style on the floor.
Let’s hope the Knicks win it in five for everyone’s mental health.
(Unrelated/related: is anyone else obsessed with Mariska Hargitay? She is my new personal icon.)
In other news, unlike most weekends, I’ve actually been proactive in planning some fun things to do. Guys, I’m taking my own advice. I have a little book club dinner to discuss Yesteryear, am making dinner for some lovely friends and might even go kayaking. Dang!
Here are three things that are bringing the joy to my life right now (I’ve buried the lede and left the best one to the end).
