This quote really spoke to me: "The importance of meeting kids where they are instead of insisting on my way as best." It's so important, especially as kids get older.

Aha! So glad it's not just me trying to shove MY WAY down my kids' throats. Well I mean, you're probably shoving down your own kids' throats and not mine! ;) All kidding aside, this might be one of the biggest lessons in parenting — and human-ing — that I have learned. Letting go of what I think is the RIGHT way and instead maybe the softer way? Makes for better relations all around.

Ooh. The softer way. Yes. That is a lovely way to think about how to approach life, parenting, and human-ing.

And same for me too. I tend to get a little stuck in the “my way is best” especially around matters of eating at the table

I read in bed every morning while rubbing an ice roller all over my face 😜 Then I do morning pages (most mornings) and take a walk outside with no sunscreen/sunglasses (this is new - apparently helps with circadian rhythms / sleep). Come home, make a protein smoothie, and bam: ready for the day. Very passionate about morning routines! I notice a big difference when I set myself up for success.

Ashlee! This sounds like a lovely way to start your day. Are you reading anything in particular in bed? Motivations/spiritual/fiction/poetry? I love how you call it setting yourself up for success. That's very true!! xo

Well, I’m still reading in bed after scrolling so I’m terrible at getting up! But all my bags (food, work and handbag) are packed so once I’m dressed, I go quickly.

Prepping the night before is critical I think, too!! I have a busy work week and have spent a lot of today prepping food, doing laundry, laying out outfits—to make it run a little easier. Thanks for sharing!!

Oooh, I'm glad you could relate to those parenting adjustments we need to make! I'm still figuring it out. ;) As for morning routines: do you know, I've never tried matcha? But I am a Today Show girlie and LOL steals and deals!
